And it has a much softer light which is not blinding for drivers. This is because halogen bulbs are more affordable. But for people on a budget, led replacement for halogen might be a better option. if your car comes stock w/ halogen projectors, those are much better. Halogen lights are easily identifiable because of their yellow colour. It's a direct violation of DOT law to put an HID kit in a housing designed for halogen bulbs except for off-road use or somethin to that effect. Compared to the 1,000-hour peak life of halogens, HIDs keep lighting and lighting to paraphrase a famous battery tagline. By most accounts, HID headlights last at least 2,000 hours, and in some cases, they can last as long as 8,000 hours.
